is there a digital slr camera which can leave its shutter open to take star pictures?

I’m currently weighing the pros and cons of certain SLR digital cameras and one of the questions that came up was if it would be possible to shoot the stars at night.. You know, like the time-lapse pictures of all the stars “moving” across the sky..Is there one where you can leave the shutter open indefinitley until you choose to end the shot?
Also, if there is, which ones would you recommend?
Thanks

Almost every DSLR offers this, you may need to get a remote control or cable release though.

I recommend a Nikon D40.

All of them can do this, but it is not on the mode dial or scene selection menu.

You have to set the camera to B shutter and control the time the shutter is open yourself.

Or get an intervalometer to do it for you.
