Is a digital SLR camera better?

So i’m getting into photography and i’m using a digital camera right now.
My main frustration is that there is no way of making what i see on the camera more like what i see through my own eyes.

Is a digital slr better for this?
bare in mind that the digital camera i have right now doesnt have a viewfinder and the slr i have my eye on does.

I’m not sure what you’re asking… a digital SLR is of course better, but you need skills in Photoshop to alter the images.

if i could afford it id get one… the one i want is in the 1,500 dollar range

the image processor is bigger on a slr so it would record more detail

Maybe.

What you need to assure your images match what you see through the viewfinder is dependent upon the skills you have as a photographer, not the camera.

If you have not recently taken a class in photography, it is the fastest way to get the fundamentals of the technical piece of photography. Only that and experience can get you closer to your goal.

A digital SLR is better in nearly every measurable way except weight. They are bigger and heavier. Other than that they have better significantly larger sensors, better optics and the ability to choose the correct lens for the job, no shutter lag, faster more accurate auto focus and of course they are completely adjustable.

I’m not really clear what you’re saying.

If you want to take pictures exactly like what you see with your eyes…

This isn’t really possible for a few reasons. First of all, the eye sees differently from a camera. The eye has more dynamic range, etc. The eye has a fairly wide field of view, but vision at the edges are poor, and only the center is truly sharp. We get sharp images by scanning the scene. The camera is the opposite, the image is sharp throughout the whole field of view.

So DSLR won’t help.

If seeing what the lens of the camera sees is what you mean, then the DSLR’s viewfinder system will beat out every other way of previewing the image. A DSLR would definitely help.

i think i know what u mean
u dont always get what u want to see in the camera of yours
so yea i would get a DSLR if i were u
but remember this takes a long time to master
it took me this entire summer to figure some of the stuff on my d90

and get redy to save money and alota responsibility cause these things are expensive

some point & shoots have viewfinders, but if you can afford a DSLR, then by all means, go for it.
