timing is a lot of it. Usually non-dslr cameras have different modes to shoot in. Look for the fireworks mode. I actually used this mode recently and the fireworks came out well, but timing is everything.

It depends on the non slr digital camera. My Panasonic LX1 has a fireworks setting as one of the user selectable ‘scenes’. It was easy. Don’t forget you need a good tripod. If you camera dosn’t have a setting, and the instruction book that came with the camera dosn’t tell you how see if your camera has a b or bulb setting. In this situation set your camera on a tripod and keep the shutter open 3 or 4 seconds while the fireworks go off. It might help if we knew what camera you are using.

Trial and error. Set the speed at 1/20th, film speed at 800 ASA and aperture at F11. Take it from there.

Use the fireworks mode. DLSR or SLR works the best because you can control the shutter and aperture.
